Mooncake Festival

Personal Work

This artwork, inspired by the cultural festivities and legends surrounding the Mid-autumn Festival, was created — in collaboration with Print Social — to share the culture with others and also help support organizations working towards stopping Asian hate.

The Mid-autumn Festival, also known as the Moon or Mooncake Festival, is an exciting time in the year when families and friends get together to share a large feast, eat mooncake, put up lanterns, and enjoy other cultural festivities.

As a Chinese-Filipino, something that I would always look forward to ever since I was a kid is the dice game we call Pua Tiong Chiu (which might be familiar to others as Bo Bing). It’s always been the main event during our celebrations and a game of luck and patience for people of all ages, each hoping to get the lucky roll and win Chong Wan or first place.
